Concerned Alves

Dani Alves' attitude in recent games concerned within the FC Barcelona. His unexplained expulsion yesterday against Betis, with an entrance on Jefferson Montero untimely, together with details of his celebration in the goal of Thiago in the field of Rayo three weeks ago are not understood in the entity azulgrana, but they trust to change . Alves believes Barça to a single player or as Guardiola himself said "irreplaceable" as long as your version is the best.

The double yellow red for Dani Alves was yesterday after a hard tackle on Jefferson Montero is the second expulsion of the Brazilian season. The previous one was in the club-Granada, the famous day that Messi beat Caesar as top scorer in the history of Barça. At that first saw Dani crash a yellow for a foul on Benítez and two minutes from José Antonio Teixeira shock Vitienes decided to expel him from touching the ball with his hand in the area.

To date, Dani Alves has a record in the league in three ejections in one season. It was in the 2007-08 season wearing the shirt of Sevilla. On the day 12, was ejected in the Villarreal - Sevilla (3-2). Only two days after he left the locker room before time in the Almería-Sevilla (1-0) and on day 37, also in the field of Betis, saw the red card prevented him from saying goodbye to his fans at the Sanchez Pizjuán in the last day, because then would sign for Barça.

The Catalan player said that it is more important win than concede goals. However, Valdés said that this Zamora trophy is a testament to Barça’s defensive work. “It’s not a priority, but it’s important for the team to win this award,” said Valdés, who also reiterated his regret for not winning the Liga title.

Finally, the Azulgrana keeper praised Betis: “they are a team that play excellent football. Both teams had chances to score and, in the end, we ended with a draw.”

Mel: "The Pep Team will be a farewell fleeting"

Although not playing anything, motivates end of the year against Barcelona?
The game that became especially motivated me. Now we play against a great team and a coach spectacular. The games against Barça are goals and performance, an incentive for diabetics come. In addition, we had a great season and we have the joy of the derby. It can be a nice finale.

What supposed firing Guardiola?
Leave a tremendous work on the lawn. He has achieved all possible titles and has won in a way that love us. Has been fortunate to have three of the best players in the world. But I think it will be a farewell a bit ephemeral.

What is your evaluation of the campaign?
I do not know how long ago Betis, being in first, got to the end to this tranquility. On Sunday we watch the games of those who risk their lives quietly, with a beer. For us it is a satisfaction, a priority. Thanks to the quiet work of all employees of the organization have been achieved. (via AS)

Zubizarreta said "this season has been excellent"

He also insisted that "all decisions are taken sport when the season ends."
Has neither confirmed nor denied the possible arrival of Lobera and said that Pep "knows how the process has gone Tito".

Andoni Zubizarreta has reiterated on Saturday that "all decisions are taken sport when the season ends." Speaking in the rest of the Betis-Barça, Zubi stated in this line that "neither confirm nor deny it" logbook information 'Ara' that Sergi Lobera would be the second Tito Vilanova once the latter relieved Guardiola the azulgrana bench. "It's all speculation, and I did not play much," added, as implying that the future could be another assistant coach.

Barcelona sporting director has been asked to explain at what point exactly was informed that Tito Pep relieve. "On Friday (April 27) morning Tito Vilanova said he accepted and explained at a press conference. Pep knows how the whole process was and knew that Tito would be the new coach," he said.

Zubizarreta has also held the title of Afellay the Benito Villamarín and commented that "the motivation to win the Cup after winning two Super Cups and World Club Championship and this season the team will not let your guard down in the two weeks will now for the Cup final friendly proposals that we had not convinced us, so we decided to stay at home. "

Lastly, Zubi said "the absence of that final against an opponent copera we do not make things easy (referring to Athletic) in any case the season has been excellent." (via MD)

The best and worst of Betis - Barça

The assessment of positive and negative as of the encounter between Betis and Barça.

BEST: THE PRIDE AND THE TEAM EFFORT
The attitude of Pep Guardiola's men in a game totally irrelevant and without consequence is noteworthy. A start with lots of attitude that brought an early goal to a party, which sought the goal and the victory but eventually the revenue was a draw, and no one will say that it was very labored and struggled, having achieved a draw in injury time .

WORST: DANI ALVES
The crossover cable Dani Alves in the second half in which a hard, incomprehensible Jefferson Montero entry on his expulsion for a second yellow was certainly the worst of the encounter. His expulsion unbalanced the team and led the comeback bética. Nothing to argue with his first yellow which cut a dangerous action, but if all the criticism of the second, which became more orange than yellow, bordering on direct expulsion. (via SPORT)

Guardiola: “I'm very pleased with the team's performance”

Guardiola is pleased with his team’s performance at the Benito Villamarín: “playing with 10 men against a team that plays football so well is complicated. We tried it and we managed to equalise.

“Keita probably deserved to play more. He’s a very dependable player in every regard. He gives us things that the other midfielders don’t have. I’m very pleased with his performance.

“Questions on the future don’t depend on me, from my point of view, Alves is an irreplaceable player. He’s been fundamental for Barça”.

Pep Guardiola held a press conference after this Saturday’s draw against Betis. The Barça manager said he is satisfied with the behavior of his players: “we played a good first half. In the second, before we went down to 10 men, we weren’t as good. After the expulsion, playing against a team that practices good football is complicated. We tried it and we managed to get the equaliser through Ketia’s header.” On the Mali international, Guardiola said that the player “probably deserves more. He’s a very dependable player in every regard. He gives us things that other midfielders don’t have. I’m pleased with his game and, in general, the team’s work.”

Afellay, who featured in the team’s starting line-up for the first time since his injury, was also mentioned by the manger. “He played very well. He participated, he had a chance to score and he didn’t lose any balls. With Alves’ red card, I preferred to sub him out to avoid fatigue. Anyway, it’s good news for the Dutch national team and for the future,” said the FC Barcelona manager.

When asked about Alves’ future, Guardiola was clear: “questions on a player’s future don’t depend on me, but from my point of view, Alves is irreplaceable. He’s been fundamental for Barça.”

Lastly, on his own future, Guardiola said: “La Liga existed before I came and it will continue to exist without me.”

Praise for Betis

The Barça manager didn’t hold back in his praise for Real Betis: “they are a great team. They play very well and they have great players. They’ve been together for a while, with the same manager and great supporters.” Guardiola finished by saying “Betis have had a great season.” (via FCBarcelona.com)

Leo Messi was left unmarked

Leo Messi continues to have everything going for him to win the Pichichi.

Leo Messi has finished the league championship with 50 goals, thanks to the four it won in the penultimate match against Espanyol. Because in the last league match, the Argentine was left unchecked. Which, of course, does not tarnish his excellent performance at all, with those 50 goals in 37 games he has played.

Like the rest of the team, Messi did not have a good performance against Betis. Contrary to what is usual with him, came very little at stake. In fact, virtually only had one attempt on goal, a foul and the last minute which sent the ball to the post. Very little background for a player like Leo.

Messi finished with 50 goals and has five more than Cristiano Ronaldo, who this Sunday will presumably head to Mallorca and his companions try to help you scored most degoles possible. But, a priori, that makes at least five goals seems rather difficult. (via SPORT)

With 80 points, the team Barcelona has yielded only two draws in the competition, and has not lost a game all season. Barça held to the foot of lawn achieving a well deserved league title. Carles Puyol has successful surgery on right knee

Doctors Ramon Cugat and Ricard Pruna performed osteochondral surgery on Carles Puyol this Saturday morning. The Barça captain underwent an arthroscopic procedure to clean up joint tissue in his right knee.

The player will be sidelined for six weeks.

Pruna: “Puyol’s objective is to be in optimal condition for the preseason”.

Doctors Ramon Cugat and Ricard Pruna, in collaboration with Egarsat, performed osteochondral knee surgery on Carles Puyol this Saturday morning. The Azulgrana captain underwent an arthroscopic procedure to clean up joint tissue in his right knee. The player will be out of action for approximately six weeks.

Doctor Cugat explained that there was a fragment of cartilage that became detached from the player’s knee and, once removed, the doctors inspected the rest of the joint. “We didn’t have time to wait this time. He told me that his leg wasn’t working, that he couldn’t continue. These are subjective feelings. We could wait last year, but this time, even though the injury wasn’t as severe, it was more noticeable than last year,” said Cugat this Saturday afternoon in the Ricard Mexenchs press room.

Doctor Pruna recognised that “he practically diagnosed himself” and that the player could be released from hospital as early as this Sunday. “His objective is to be in optimal condition for the preseason,” Pruna said.

Puyol will, in all likelihood, miss the King’s Cup Final and the EURO. “If everything goes well, we’ll have Carles Puyol for many years,” said Cugat.

Pruna also talked about the number of injuries picked up by the first team this season: “we’ve had various muscle injuries. I believe most of them were mild or medium and that they were dealt with well. With that said, we had to go to the operating room five times this season: Abidal’s transplant, the ACLs of Afellay and Fontàs, Villa’s leg and now Carles.”

Villa, Abidal and Tito

Doctors Cugat and Pruna also talked about three specific first-team members. On David Villa’s recovery, Cugat said that “we’ll have to wait two or three more weeks until the EURO starts. This time will permit us to see the extent of his recovery. Time will give us the answer, in any case, he’ll have the last word on the matter.”

Pruna talked about Éric Abidal’s condition: “The transplant was successful. His recovery has been good but slow. The player, if everything goes well, could be released from hospital next week.”

On Tito Vilanova, Pruna explained that “he’s doing fantastically well. In layman terms, we’d say he’s been healed. In scientific terms, he’s free of disease.” (via FCBarcelona.com)

[Barça B; Liga Aderante; Week 38] Almería 1 - 2 FC Barcelona B

Goals from Sergi Roberto and Deulofeu in the first half seal the victory for Barça B. This is the team's first win away from home in six months.

Deulofeu, the best Barça player on the pitch, assisted Roberto in the first goal and scored the second.

The second half was marked by an imperial Masip in goal, who, without a doubt, secured the three points for the Blaugranas.

Barça B beat Almería 1-2 at the Juegos Mediterráneos, it’s the team’s first victory away from home in six months. Eusebio’s team hadn’t won away from the Miniestadi since November 19 2011, when they beat Murcia 0-2. Since then, the reserve team have lost five times and tied five times as visitors. This Saturday in Almería, however, the goals from Sergi Roberto and Deulofeu in the first half decided the match for the Azulgranas. Barça B was the better side in the first half but Almería stepped their game up in the second. Ortiz scored the definitive 1-2 in stoppage time. Barça B have 53 points and are lurking just below the promotion playoff spots.

Barça B won the match after putting in a brilliant performance in the first half. With possession and determination, the Catalans wrestled control of the game away from the home side. Rodri and Deulofeu enjoyed the first two clear chances to score. The goal, however, was scored on the third chance, thanks to an excellent play from Deulofeu on the right wing, whose cross was knocked in by Sergi Roberto. The 0-1 hurt an Andalusian side that was facing a Barça B team that was offering up their best football before the half. Eusebio’s boys launched forward and they were rewarded: Deulofeu left four players in his wake before skipping past the keeper to score Barça’s second. Simply beautiful.

The match was completely different in the second half. Almería dominated possession from the 55th minute until the end of the game. With Soriano on the pitch, the home side looked a different team. The midfielder shot time and again after receiving crosses into Barça’s area, but Masip was impenetrable. The Barça keeper, without a doubt, secured the three points for the reserve side. However, Ortiz latched onto the ball and unleashed a long-range shot - this time Masip could do nothing to impede the home team’s goal. Almería’s goal, scored in the last play of the match, came too late. Barça B managed to reach their goal: win a match away from the Miniestadi. (via FCBarcelona.cat)

Eric Abidal, ready to receive the medical

A new news for Barça. If the first was that the intervention of Carles Puyol had been entirely satisfactory in the press conference after the operation the captain of the Barça, the doctor Ricard Pruna has advanced good news about Eric Abidal.

FC Barcelona's doctor stated that "evolution has been good, though perhaps slowly l. Hope for next week has the highest".

Recall that the Blaugrana full-back underwent a liver transplant last April 10 at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona and, in the words of Pruna, next week could leave the hospital and continue with the recovery at home. (via MD)
