The Barça manager can now count on Ilie for Barça B matches after the midfielder successfully recovered from a season-long injury.
Valladolid visit the Miniestadi this Wednesday (22:00, Marca TV) with the goal of breaking into the direct promotion spots of the Liga Adelante.
“We’re happy and pleased.” That’s how Eusebio Sacristán explained Barça B’s reaction to the news that Ilie was given medical clearance to play after recovering from his heel injury that’s kept him off the pitch for the entire season. “It’s the story of the day and of the season,” said the Barça manager. It goes without saying that Ilie’s return to the reserve side has pleased his team-mates. According to the manager he’s a “well-loved player, his return will make the team feel reinforced.”
Barça B will face Valladolid this Wednesday at 22:00 at the the Miniestadi. Eusebio is “very pleased with the team” and he hopes to maintain the team’s “the tension, intensity and ambition” until the end of the season.
Besides Ilie, the Barça manager will also be able to count on Deulofeu, who was given permission by the Federation to play tomorrow, and Lobato, who also received medical clearance to play after successfully recovering from a muscle injury that he picked up against Almería. Kiko Femenía, on the other hand, trained apart from the group and, with all certainty, will miss the match against Valladolid. His recovery will mark his availability for the match this Sunday against Soria.
Currently sitting in the third spot, level on points with Celta Vigo in second, the team managed by Djukic need to win to keep themselves in the fight for a spot that grants direct promotion to Primera. Valladolid have players like Javi Guerra and Manucho, both of whom are charged with creating the team’s offensive play. Eusebio cautioned his men ahead of tomorrow’s match: “they are a team that attack, with players that have a lot of quality. However, they’re very well balanced: they attack and defend well. They’ll come here to win and we have to be prepared to receive a very good opponent.” (via FCBarcelona.com)
