Beckenbauer does not want to Barça before the Champions League final

The honorary president of Bayern Munich, Franz Beckenbauer, he admits, in an article published by the newspaper 'Bild' that his team would rather not meet with Real Madrid or Barcelona before the final of the Champions League.

With respect to other teams at competition, Beckenbauer says that after that shown in 7-0 rout against Basel, the Bavarians can beat anyone.

"In this state of form, Bayern can beat anybody in the Champions League. Subject to Real Madrid and Barcelona. So I hope we do not touch any of them in Friday's draw," said Beckenbauer.

"It is enough that we find one in the final on May 19 in Munich," the 'Kaiser'.

Beckenbauer also claims that after removal of Borussia Dortmund in the first round and the catastrophe of Bayer Leverkusen in the second round against Barcelona Bayern returned to save the honor of German football in Europe.

"A removal of Bayern would have been a catastrophe for the German football. Luckily we have avoided. Not have been fair to the Bundesliga," said Beckenbauer. (via SPORT)
