Barça hit woodwork 21 times in the league

FC Barcelona and Liverpool are the two teams that have been most unfortunate with shots hitting the woodwork in major leagues this season. It’s happened to FCB 21 times in 26 games.

Messi, with seven, and Cesc, with five, are the Barça players that have come so near but so far on the most occasions.

Andrés Iniesta and Isaac Cuenca are the latest two Barcelona players to suffer the misfortune, in last weekend’s clash with Racing Santander, of seeing their efforts comes within inches of the target.

In 26 games, FC Barcelona have hit the post or crossbar 21 times. The only team in any of the main European leagues to have a similar count is Premiership outfit Liverpool.
