However, the four possible 18 points scored on that led the team to the area descensopreocupan in the subsidiary, which produces many times but not defined as before. The offensive signings, Rodri and Kiko, not just adapt and begin to long for the duo formed by Nolito being out at Benfica and Jonathan Soriano takes months without playing and who still has at least two weeks to reappear but was top scorer of second division last season.

If you look back the issue is not so dramatic: the beginnings of the first two campaigns were equally Luis Enrique irregular and that's fine. The coaching staff makes sure that there is no relaxation, which is all about work and time, that the spirits are intact and blind trust is to reverse the dynamics. "Sporting has given us the field and the team has adjusted well in the field. Peter has played in an undefined position and managed to remove references to that rival and have to think about. When most people think, better for us. " On the penalty to Messi that didn't see Clos Gómez, Zubizarreta preferred not to be wet. "I have not seen the criminal Leo. The price of quality and success will take another huge bill at the Barca dressing room. This week's sad story is repeated in the diaspora of players to coincide with the days marked for the commitments of the selections. Between qualifying rounds for the World Cup, European Championship, African Cup and friendlies, Guardiola will lose a total of 14 first team players. A lot could still be capitalized if not for the misfortune in the form of injuries Iniesta, Alexis, Afellay and Cesc.

A Pep will have no alternative but to resort to training as a family. Nor is it something that will take you by surprise. In fact, the Barca coach recurring solution has been adopted as the preparatory sessions shared between the first team and the reserves. By the way, Eusebio Sacristan also affect the chapter selections for a few days. Montoya, Bartra and plans are called to defend the colors of the under-21.

At home, this team always makes things difficult and you have to fight to the end. We suffered a little, but it was worth it -we came away with three very important points”.

Adriano also regretted the injury to Abidal, but insisted that the flurry of injuries was down to bad luck: “I don’t know why they’ve happened -we play a lot of games and we’ve had a lot of bad luck”. However the main sensation for Adriano was one of satisfaction: “we are coming away from here very happy with the result”.

Below are some of the other players’ post match comments:

Guardiola, insists “there’s still a long way to go”

The boss was clearly happy with his team’s hard won win at the always difficult Sporting Gijon ground, though he insisted that although the win gave his team top spot in the table “there’s still a long way to go”.

Guardiola revealed that the squad were “very satisfied” with the result against Sporting and stressed the importance of taking the points from such tough games- “you really have to fight for these points”, whilst not letting the team’s top spot take on too much weight- “there’s still a long way to go”.

Guardiola praised Sporting, who always seem to make things tough for Barça: “we were up against a very good Sporting side, who put a lot of men behind the ball, sticking together and leaving very little space. It’s always hard to win here, Sporting have some very proud and young players and really fight. What’s more, we came into the game after a long trip and this is a very difficult ground to win at. Even so, they had very few chances to score”.

The boss also referred to Sporting manager Manuel Preciado: “you just have to see how his team behaves. I believe you always have to look at the players and I can see their enthusiasm which is always a sign that they are with the manager. This team is alive and Manolo knows better than anybody how to manage these situations. It doesn’t matter where he is, you can always recognise his teams. Any big team coming here will have to fight really hard”.

Guardiola was also quizzed about the possible penalty committed by De las Cuevas on Messi and although he admitted he didn’t have a clear view of the incident, he insisted: “everybody should know that if Leo is on the ground, it’s never because he’s dived. He never cheats and he never dives”. (via FCBarcelona.cat)

[Liga BBVA; Week07] Sporting Gijón 0 - 1 FC Barcelona

An early goal from Adriano gave Guardiola’s men the three points in Gijon which take them to the top of the table for the first time this season. On the negative side, Abidal was forced off with an injury.

As they were in their last two visits to El Molinon, Barça were really made to work hard by Sporting and they ran out winners thanks to a single first half goal from Adriano –though they could easily have increased their lead in a dominant first 45 minutes. After the break the game was more evenly balanced, with Barça controlling the home team’s efforts, despite losing Abidal to injury and, in truth, Valdes was rarely under threat.

The win puts Barça at the top of La Liga going into the international break, with 14 points alongside Llevant, but with a better goal difference.

Guardiola began the game with another tactical innovation, sending out a 3-3-4 line up, with Pedro playing as a false number nine, Messi a little behind him and Villa and Adriano out wide. The system helped Barça dominate and after a Xavi shot had bounced off the woodwork, Adriano was quick to pounce and his shot deflected off Canella past Sporting keeper Juan Pablo to give Barça a deserved early lead.

One up, Barça now began to completely take charge and Thiago and Villa combined on the left to nearly double the lead before Messi had a penalty shout turned down by the ref. The second looked to be a matter of when not if, as Sporting defended en masse and could only muster a couple of counter attacks before the break.

Abidal injury and return to back four

The hosts upped their game in the second half though., and played with a greater intensity and more presence in attack, upsetting Barça’s rhythm, which was further disturbed by Abidal’s injury, forcing Guardiola to bring on Maxwell and Piqué for the Frenchman and Pedro, whilst reverting to a traditional back four. After a first 25 minutes or so under immense local pressure, Barça began to take control again and take the sting out of any Sporting threat by employing their trademark domination of possession and not allowing the hosts a sniff of a chance.
